Great things can happen when people clay together. Here is one story: I sat next to Hazel Keyes-Frederick at Clayathon 2008. She was working on a polymer clay mask and occasionally would ask the people around her for advice and comments, although she had a good idea of where she wanted to go with the project. I didn’t think any more about it until a few weeks ago when I was paging through the October-November 2008 issue of Beadwork magazine and I saw Hazel’s mask, complete with beadwork, on page 104. Way to go Hazel!!!
Here are some pictures of the work in progress.
Clay gatherings are happening all over. If you’ve never been to one, go. Terri Powell reports that the dates for the New Hampshire Polymer Clay Guild’s Klay Karma 2008 are July 24, 25 and 26. To read about Klay Karma 2007, press here.
And stay tuned for news on Clayathon 2009.

Way to go, Hazel! It’s nice to see how the finished mask turned out.
